Coffee and Tea

Instant coffee makes a wonderful topping for coffee cake, or a jiffy tie dye shirt for that stained white silk blouse you could not wear again, otherwise. Just tie this shirt up into knots, wrap rubber bands, roll in strong instant coffee, rinse in cool water, then in vinegar, then rinse again. Avoid bleaching silk shirts whenever possible.

Coffee substitutes include roast soy beans, chickory, and bark or blackened toast (charcoal), which may be ground and added to coffee. A few companies, such as Community Coffee, already add chickory to some of their coffee blends. Postum is a brand name for a coffee substitute, much like instant coffee.
